Change your air filter.
Your air conditioner’s filter should be changed about once a month. Dirty filters can restrict air -flow, and over work the evaporator coil, potentially causing the coil to freeze over and defrost into your home. In addition to changing out your filter, be sure to maintain the area around your air conditioner if it is outside. Clear any tall grass or shrubbery that may get into your air filter and cause blockage.
Safety Float Switches Can Stop Water Damage Before It Becomes a Problem
A safety float switch shuts off the power to the air conditioning unit when water builds up in the drain pan, preventing further condensation. This is a great precautionary measure to take, in addition to your regular maintenance checks, and filter changes.
